Each year, George School chemistry teachers designate one AP Chemistry student to receive this honorary certificate for excellence in the study of chemistry. To qualify, the student must have a B+ average or higher and possess the following skills: proficiency with a variety of laboratory techniques, strong problem-solving skills, scientific curiosity and creativity, ability to collaborate effectively with others, and a demonstrated interest in learning.

AP Chemistry teacher Alyssa Schultheis writes, “Thomas was a quiet leader this year. Not only did he demonstrate a solid understanding of chemistry through his written work, he worked with admirable efficiency, awareness, and independence in the laboratory. Always willing to help others, Thomas explained concepts in ways that revealed his humble nature and a belief that one person’s success should never preclude another’s.”
