Why GS?
Imagine being surrounded by people who are as excited about school as you are. Where teachers expect you to call them by their first name as a sign of mutual respect. Where you learn to listen—really listen—to your inner voice and that of those around you. Discover how powerfully your light can shine. Come to George School.
George School is powered by the belief that we’re brighter together.
Our academic experience is a collective effort to cultivate each student's highest ambitions. You'll be surrounded by peers and mentors who truly treasure learning as you dive into an academic program designed to give you an amazing amount of creative and intellectual freedom and adventurous opportunities for global study, artistic expression, service learning, mathematical and scientific exploration.
Our community runs on kindness. You'll be inspired and supported by peers and faculty in and out of the classroom in ways that are life-changing. We’re rooted in Quaker values. Simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, stewardship—these are in our DNA.
The results are often astonishing. As a George School graduate, you'll be sharp-minded, purpose-driven, big-hearted, and globally conscious.
George School is a Quaker, all-gender boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12 located in Newtown, PA.
Our goal is to be a community where people with vastly different backgrounds, identities, and perspectives thrive, are treated equitably, and are united in their mutual respect, and the pursuit of a common good. This belief is reflected in the school’s motto, “Mind the Light.”

Quaker
Embrace the concept of shared responsibility—for ourselves and the world as a whole. Our foundational values drive everything we do.
Get comfortable with calling your teachers by their first names; because we believe we are all teachers and learners.
Be yourself. We don't want you to be like us—we want you to be you, because that's what makes our community shine.
Compete as a student-athlete in the Friends Schools League (FSL), where you'll have powerful opportunities for learning, growth, and development.
A Campus and Community that are just the right size.
Class that are the perfect environment for lots of questions, deep conversations, and hands-on learning.
Dorms that are family; after a long day, it feels like coming home.
Advisors, teachers, and coaches who want to know you, not simply grade your performance.
A Residential Learning Community that benefits all students.
Know your teachers as more than instructors. Share a meal, cheer on a team, join together in the meetinghouse. The classroom is a comfortable place to be, but learning is not confined to it. Our whole campus—and beyond—is our classroom.
Work hard, play hard. Sticky buns, spike ball, spontaneous music on Red Square—You'll join your friends for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and lots of times in between.
