Logistics Plan for Campus
Access to the building will be limited once construction begins in May 2026 and will continue throughout the following school year into spring of 2027.
Here's what you need to know:
- The center of the academic quad will be closed to foot traffic.
- Access to Walton will be limited.
- The parking lot between Walton and the Meeting House will be inaccessible once construction fencing is installed in late April 2026.
- Fencing will remain in place until the project is completed in May 2027.
Below is a logistics plan indicating where construction fencing will be installed. Renderings will also be placed along the fencing from Red Square down Academic Walk.
*All community members are encouraged to review this information carefully, as both pedestrian routes and parking access (between the Meeting House and Walton) will be impacted.

Campus Impact During & After Construction:
- In accordance with the tree removal and replacement plan approved by the Environmental Oversight Committee, tree removal will begin in March 2026 (over Spring Break). Tree replacement will take place in the final stage of the project; all memorial trees will be replanted or replaced.
- Site mobilization and fence installation by our CM will begin on Monday, April 20 and be completed by April 30, 2026.
-
The Walton Lobby area will remain open for Alumni Weekend May 1-3, 2026, but will be closed starting May 4 through the duration of the project.
-
Temporary restroom facilities will be placed directly across from the side entrance of Walton in the grass area along Academic Walk mid-August 2026 and remain through construction for use by the community.
-
Construction will begin in May 2026 (access to Auditorium will be available via Academic Walk entrance) and be completed by May 2027.
-
There will be a grand opening dedication over Alumni Weekend in May 2027.
-
Following completion of the project, a new access road off Farm Drive will be constructed to the parking lot between Walton and the Meeting House. Vehicular traffic will no longer be permitted from Farm Drive on to Meeting House Lane leading to Academic Walk.
-
Increased safety for pedestrians moving from south end of campus to and from the academic quad.
