History

George School was founded in 1893 by Quakers.

George School's collective culture, traditions, and values reflect our founding principles, amongst them a strong commitment to Quaker ideals such as peace, equality, community, and integrity.

At George School, our history teaches us that where we’ve been is very much a part of who we are and where we’re going.

George School Hymn

Faith, hope and love we cherish, these our common goals to gain.

In times of indecision, may we e’er fulfill thy aims.

We are gathered here at George School striving for a way of life,

That peace may reign forever,
strengthened by Thy guiding light.

by Robert w. Steele (c. 1954)
George School music teacher
