Alumni Weekend 2025
Alumni Weekend 2025

It was thrilling to welcome a record number of over 625 alumni and friends home to George School for Alumni Weekend 2025 — a sunny weekend full of reconnection, recognition and reflection!

The joy of connection was on display at the Welcome Reception on Friday night, and our student thespians were grateful to see so many alums in the audience during their production of Clue: on Stage.

Saturday morning, alumni and friends from across decades made their way back to campus for a lively day of activities.

This year’s All-Alumni Gathering in the Meeting House was especially meaningful. Head of School Justin Brandon presented the Distinguished Alumni Award to Donzaleigh Abernathy ’75 for her impact as a Civil Rights Activist and dedicated member of the GS community.

In addition, Scott Spence lauded retiring faculty members Polly Lodge and Vince Campellone. With shed tears and of course — in true Vince spirit — a few laughs, the community celebrated their accomplishments and reminisced on fond memories they shared with students and community members.

Even our future Cougars had a blast as campus was transformed into a family fun zone Saturday afternoon, complete with live music, bounce houses, ultimate frisbee, four square and spike ball competitions. Class of 1975 celebrated their 50th Reunion with a special lunch in the dining hall.

The afternoon included traditions, old and new. Vince hosted the annual pick-up softball game, and Justin hosted a backyard barbecue for the Cyd Carpenter ’47 Alumni of Color gathering. Classes from 1955 to 2020 had special celebrations for the milestone reunion years and enjoyed meaningful moments with friends – including a Commencement dinner at the outdoor auditorium for the online graduates of the Class of 2020!

The weekend wrapped up on Sunday with a special Community Meeting for Worship, Art Gallery walk and brunch.

A heartfelt thank you to the alumni and volunteers for a truly memorable weekend. We cannot wait to connect with you soon, and make sure to please save the date for Alumni Weekend next year, May 1-3, 2026!
