Cross Country Teams Shine at Friends School League Championship
The varsity and junior varsity cross country teams delivered outstanding performances at yesterday's Friends Schools League Championship, held on the notoriously tough Belmont Plateau course in Philadelphia.
The JV girls dominated their race, securing 1st place overall. Leading the way were Indi Mercado, Olivia Mitchell, and Emma Wey, who finished 5th, 6th, and 9th, respectively.
On the varsity side, two boys earned individual medals, with Michael Mascari taking 3rd and Owen Burgess finishing 10th. The varsity boys team placed 3rd overall.
In the varsity girls' race, Margaret Massengill took home 2nd place, finishing just fractions of a second behind the leader.
These impressive results highlight the teams' hard work and competitive spirit. Next up for the team is a return trip to Belmont Plateau for the PAISAA Championships on October 26th.
