Sam Tchoumandrine '25 continues his soccer career at Juventus Residency Academy

For a high school coach, there’s no greater joy than seeing a player you’ve coached take a monumental step toward fulfilling their dream.

So when a scout from Juventus reached out this fall to express interest in recruiting senior Sam Tchoumandrine '25 for the Juventus Residency Academy program, Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach Glenn Curry was hopeful.

After a thorough evaluation, including a review of transcripts, uncut game footage, and weeks of analysis, Juventus offered Sam a spot on the 2025-2026 U19 Academy squad.

Sam will compete against top academies across Europe while training with Juventus coaches and technical staff. He’ll also study Italian on site and begin pursuing his college degree through Arizona State’s top-ranked online program. As much as he is enjoying his senior year at George School, Sam is eager for his next chapter.

“I’m looking forward to the outstanding and professional training and development that the academy provides,” Sam said. “I’m confident its world-class facilities, professional coaching staff, and of course, great players and environment, will push me to get better and better each day.”

A varsity player since his ninth-grade year, Sam is the second-highest goal scorer in GS history, finishing out his high school career with 36 goals.

“Sam’s contributions went beyond the stat sheet,” said Glenn. "A team leader, he organized summer practices, sent motivational messages to his teammates, and offered timely words of encouragement during games."

I’ve learned that determination and a positive attitude are the most important factors in developing as an athlete and a person.

“I’m looking forward to being immersed in a professional, competitive environment that will push me to get better and better each day," said Sam.

“I’m incredibly proud of Sam and excited for the extraordinary opportunity that lies ahead of him in Turin,” continued Glenn. “This experience will undoubtedly shape Sam's future on and off the field, and George School will be cheering him on every step of the way!"
