Sports and PE Requirements
9th grade: You must play a sport in the fall and a second sport during winter or spring term. Your third commitment may be any of the following:
- A third sport
- An after-school performance class in the term you are not playing a sport
- A Physical Education (PE) class in the term you are not playing a sport
- Dance as a yearlong arts course
(Note that freshmen may not be managers or student athletic training aides.)
10th grade: You must play at least one sport, preferably during the fall (you need special permission if you do not play a fall sport). Then you must play either a second sport or participate in an after-school performance class during a subsequent term. Unless you have a yearlong overload (a class in every arrangement all year), you must choose one of the following as your third commitment:
- Another sport or after-school performance class
- A Physical Education (PE) class in the term you are not doing a sport/performance
- Dance as a yearlong arts course
11th grade: You must select one of the following options:
- Two sports at the Varsity or Junior Varsity (JV) level
- Two after-school performance classes
- A Varsity or JV sport and an after-school performance class
- Three terms of sport/after-school performance/PE, including at least one sport or after-school performance
- A yearlong overload plus two terms of sport/after-school performance/PE, including at least one sport or after-school performance
- A sport or after-school performance class, plus dance as a yearlong arts course
(It is strongly recommended that you do a sport or after-school performance in the fall.)
12th grade: You must select one of the following options:
- Two sports
- Two after-school performance classes
- A sport and an after-school performance class
- A sport or an after-school performance class, plus one term of Physical Education (PE)
- Dance as a yearlong arts course
