When Alex Pfundt ’03 was a student at George School, he could have never imagined that he would one day become the Director of Library Services. He was excited to attend George School as a student and admired the way students carried themselves: self-assured, expressive, and genuinely invested in learning—a sentiment that remains true to this day.
Welcome to MDA Library
an academic library & learning commons that is a resource for all community members
The Mollie Dodd Anderson (MDA) Library provides access to quality print and digital materials developed and maintained to align with the curriculum and to reflect the diversity of our community. MDA Library is a place that advocates for intellectual exploration and maintains inclusive materials and resources that support curiosity and learning.
Our professional librarians support inquiry-based learning and guide students in developing multiple literacies for information engagement, knowledge creation, and reading appreciation. They are available to conduct research consultations with students, provide research instruction in the classroom, and teach students how to utilize the databases and resources available to them at George School.
Library study rooms and the MDA Café also offer spaces for students to collaborate together on group projects, conduct research, and work independently. Students are welcome to visit the circulation desk throughout the school day to sign out a study room. The Learning Center, Waghorne Academic Study Hub (WASH), the Writing Center, and the Archives are also located within the library.
Contact the MDA Library staff at mdalibrary@georgeschool.org or 215.579.6652 with any questions or to learn more about the library.

Meet Alex
My favorite thing about being a librarian and educator is faculty collaboration and working together on a shared vision for a learning outcome, and the creativity involved in the process. Libraries play an essential role in advocating for and instilling positive learning habits which help shape overall learning experiences for students.Alex Pfundt '03Director of Library Services
