Art for Relief will return to George School on Saturday, April 21, 2018. This year’s event will take place in the Mollie Dodd Anderson Library beginning at 6:00 p.m.
“We chose Action in Africa because of their work with children in Uganda,” said Nora Greer ’19 one of the event’s student directors. “They have a community center program that is based off doing art and creative projects with kids and programs for adults. They also make it affordable for kids to get a thorough education.”
Art for Relief will feature a silent auction of both student and faculty artwork as well as student performances. Cash and checks will be accepted during the auction.
“Art for Relief has been an opportunity for me to use art as a platform for giving back. It is a chance for artists to showcase their work, either in the auction or in the performance, all while supporting a great cause,” commented Tyler Gilbert ’18. “This year we want to raise a couple thousand dollars for Action in Africa. I have learned a lot through the direct contact I have had with the organization leaders from Action in Africa. I look forward to this year’s event and hope for a large turn out!”
Art for Relief is open to the public. For more information contact Shari Rossmann, director of student activities at 215.579.6597 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
