Arts Faculty Talent Highlighted During Embrace the World

Vases handcrafted by ceramics teacher Amedeo Salamoni.

George School’s Embrace the World celebration, a dinner, dance, and auction happening on Saturday, October 20 at 6:00 p.m., is just around the corner. The event celebrates George School’s 125th anniversary.

Many of George School’s talented arts faculty members have donated their time to craft original items for the auction. Among some of the treasured items are a folding table handcrafted by Carter Sio ’76 p ’09, George School’s woodshop teacher, using the katsura tree and George School white oak, several stunning vases from ceramics teacher Amedeo Salamoni, and a breathtaking photograph from photography teacher Danielle Picard-Sheehan p ’19 ’21. Judy Bartella, the school’s longstanding pottery teacher, is giving bidders the chance to find their inner artist with her donation of two three-hour pottery lessons.

Online bidding for the silent auction begins on Monday, October 15. See the complete list of items or purchase a limited number of remaining tickets at www.georgeschool.org/embracetheworld. Proceeds from the event will support tuition assistance and faculty development.
