George School vs Princeton Day School—Friday, October 4, 2019 @ 4:15 p.m.
On Friday, October 4, Princeton Day School defeated George School by a score of 3-0. Despite the scoreline, this rematch was a much more competitive affair than the first meeting. The game went back and forth, with PDS winning and converting q penalty near the end of each half. The second penalty was the result of a very unfortunate handball. PDS then rounded out the day, scoring their third goal late as George School pressed up in an attempt to get a goal back.
George School vs Peddie School—Tuesday, October 8, 2019 @ 4:15 p.m.
On Tuesday, October 8, Peddie traveled to George School and defeated the Cougars by a score of 2-0. This was another competitive game, but once again, George School could not find the back of the net. The game was scoreless for about 50 minutes, with both sides creating chances. George School's goalkeeper, Chase Johnson, made a number of vital saves. Striker/midfielder, Darwin Zhou, also hit the post with an excellent bending effort from the edge of the penalty area. However, it was Peddie who eventually broke the deadlock with some skilled play down the right flank, a good ball into the box, and an easy finish. George School gave up one more goal on a counter-attack as they sent defenders forward try and equalize late.
George School @ The Lawrenceville School—Friday, October 11, 2019 @ 4:15 p.m.
On Friday, October 11, George School was defeated by a strong Lawrenceville side by a score of 6-0. Lawrenceville dominated possession and showed their skill in the first half, scoring 5 goals. It could have been more if not for the heroics of Chase Johnson in George School's net. George School had a much better second half, only conceding one goal and creating a few promising chances. George School has two more games left this season. The first is home against Holy Ghost on Wednesday, October 16, and the second is away at PRISM on Friday, October 18.
