George School @ Princeton Day School

Tuesday, September 10, 2019 @ 4:15 p.m.
Win 2-1
The Junior Varsity Boys soccer team opened their season on the road at Princeton Day School on Tuesday, September 10.  The team withstood strong pressure in the first half,  thanks to the efforts of sophomore keeper, Dash Atwood.  At halftime, it was 0-0 but thanks to the shrewd strategy of JV captains Zane Wasicko and Dash Atwood the field was literally tilted to George School's advantage in the 2nd half.  Going downhill George School generated more sustained pressure on the PDS goal, breaking through in the 14th minute when junior Hari Narayanan played a through ball to junior Frederic Perera who finished it off the post to put GS up 1-0.   Not long after, central midfielder Sahib Singh pushed a ball through which Hari Narayanan was able to hustle to get a foot on, beating the keeper to the 50-50 and knocking it home to put GS up 2-0.  While PDS was able to earn a penalty kick in the last 5 minutes and convert it to make the score 2-1, junior keeper Amitai Debiche was able to help preserve the lead by not conceding a goal in the run of play throughout the 2nd half.
