George School’s varsity softball team competes in the highly competitive Friends Schools League (FSL), where teamwork and skill development are at the heart of their success.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Terry Scullion, the Cougars bring energy and dedication to every game, building on a tradition of excellence that includes a league championship in 2018. The program focuses on fundamentals, leadership, and growth.

ACCOLADES
- Friends Schools League Champions: George School Softball has captured eight league titles—1989, 1990, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2005, and 2018—cementing its legacy of excellence.
- Historic Wins: Highlights include a thrilling 17–11 victory over Friends’ Central in 1997 and a dominant 12–2 championship triumph in 1996, with the most recent title secured in 2018 after edging Academy of the New Church 2–1.
Meet the Coaches

Head Coach Terry Scullion
Terry Scullion serves as Head Coach of the George School varsity softball team and brings more than two decades of coaching experience to the program. A graduate of La Salle University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Terry joined George School after coaching at Nazareth Academy and spending twelve years in travel softball. Over the past ten seasons, he has led the Cougars to consistent success, highlighted by a FSL Championship in 2018. Terry’s coaching philosophy centers on teaching the fundamentals with a positive attitude, creating an environment where players can improve their skills while having fun. He emphasizes individual development, team unity, and strong leadership, with captains playing a key role in shaping the team culture. Guided by his mantra — "play hard, play smart, play together" — Terry is committed to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field.
