In 2023, Patrick O'Dunne took on the challenge of launching the rowing program at George School. Over the course of the 2023–2024 school year, he successfully built the program from the ground up. Under his leadership, both the boys’ and girls’ boats have shown rapid development and impressive performances, including qualifying and sending a boat to the USRowing Youth Nationals.

Patrick’s coaching philosophy centers around athlete development, team culture, and high-level competition. His extensive experience as both a competitor and coach continue to shape the foundation and future success of George School rowing.

Patrick began his rowing career at Penn State University, where he competed for eight semesters before advancing his training at the prestigious Penn Athletic Club in Philadelphia. From 2005 to 2008, Patrick was a member of the U.S. National Team, representing the United States at the highest level of international competition. 

He raced in the men's pair at the 2005 World Rowing Championships in Japan and sat four seat of the men's eight at the 2007 World Championships in Germany. That same year, Patrick competed at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, earning a gold medal for the men's eight and stroking the men's pair to a silver medal.

In August 2024, Haley joined the George School rowing program as an assistant coach alongside Patrick O'Dunne. Since then, she has played an integral role in helping build the foundation of the teams, bringing a wealth of competitive experience and a passion for athlete development.

Haley Uliasz began her rowing career at the Kent School in Connecticut, where she competed all four years. She went on to row Division I at Syracuse University for five years, making a significant impact on the program throughout her collegiate career.

At Syracuse, Haley was a key contributor to the team’s success—racing at four NCAA Championships, helping the team capture its first ACC Conference title in 2025, and making history by representing Syracuse at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta for the first time. A standout multi-sport athlete, Haley also competed as a Division I ice hockey player during her fifth year at Syracuse.

Avery Riekert joined the George School rowing program in the fall of 2024 and leads the coaching of the novice squad. She plays a key role in introducing new rowers to the sport, focusing on technique, fundamentals, and the nuances of rowing, ensuring they are well-prepared to excel as they progress in their careers. Avery also works closely with the team's coxswain's, helping them develop leadership, communication, and technical skills. 

Avery began her rowing career at the Great Miami Rowing Center in Southwest Ohio. After several years of competitive rowing, she shifted her focus to peer coaching and occasionally coxing due to health challenges. Following high school, she continued to stay involved in the sport as a student coach with the Miami University Rowing Club.
