Basketball - Varsity Boys

George School Athletics is proud to announce the appointment of Christopher Harris as the new Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. Harris joins George School from Fordham University, where he served as the assistant recruiting coordinator for the Men’s Basketball Program.

Harris will be succeeding Ben Luber, who recently accepted a position as Assistant Coach for Men’s Basketball at the University of Pennsylvania. Luber led the boys' varsity basketball team to a Friends League championship in 2023—the first league title in the school's 52-year history—and a runner-up finish in the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association (PAISAA) State Championship. During his tenure, Coach Luber developed 11 first-team all-league players.

“Chris brings a great depth of experience in both coaching and mentorship to George School,” said Athletic Director Kurt Ruch. “His experience, skills, and values align beautifully with our vision for the program, and we look forward to welcoming him to campus.”

Harris joined the Fordham Men's Basketball staff in September 2024 as the program's assistant recruiting coordinator. Prior to his time at Fordham, he served as the assistant athletic director and assistant boys' basketball coach at Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School, overseeing all aspects of administration for the school's varsity and junior varsity sports teams.

Before that, Harris was both an assistant coach and paraprofessional at Woodstock Academy in Woodstock, Conn., where he assisted in recruiting for the school's prep team. A four-year men's basketball player at Southern Connecticut State, Harris graduated in 2012 and has also been part of coaching staffs at Division III Arcadia University and The MacDuffie School.
