Coaching Staff Philosophy

A fundamental aspect of our coaching philosophy in the boys’ lacrosse program at George School is to support and instill a growth mindset. In order to support that growth, we encourage our student-athletes to challenge themselves mentally and physically by participating in fall or winter sports in preparation for our spring season. In addition to that, we provide off-season strength & conditioning as well as evening or weekend clinic times to come together as a team and practice fundamentals or conditioning. A more informal opportunity for growth occurs when our student-athletes “check-out” the bucket of balls we provide and go out to our turf field to practice shooting or passing. These are just a few of the ways we try to support our student-athletes to reach their maximum potential but we also are working with them year-round to support their growth as young men who can be leaders and role models in the community and after they leave George School. A big part of that growth as young men is helping them to understand the importance of team unity, clear communication, as well as a passion for the game which allows them to work hard each day to improve. As a coaching staff, we strive to model that desire for growth, respect for the game, and integrity on and off the field.
