Student Film Wins Grand Prize at Tribeca Film Festival

George School students won the Grand Prize for the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Speak Truth to Power video contest held at the Tribeca Film Festival for their film “When Home is the Mouth of a Shark” on June 9, 2022.

Jeffrey Love ’19 Earns All-American Honors

Continuing his successful season this spring, Jeffrey Love ’19 qualified for the 10K at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio. Jeffrey, a junior at Connecticut College, placed eighth in the 10K, finishing with a time of 30:37.78. The performance earned Jeffrey outdoor track and field All-America honors.

Academic Program Adds Focus on Entrepreneurship

Thanks to the Signature Academic Program and its emphasis on experiential learning, a new course in entrepreneurship has joined George School’s extensive history and social science offerings. Its “initial public offering” was a huge success, with so much interest from students that three sections of the two-module course have been created.

Angy Rushford ’22 Offered IB Merit Scholarship

Angy Rushford ’22 was offered an International Baccalaureate (IB) merit scholarship from George Washington University. “I hope to double major in international affairs and national security,” said Angy. “I feel more than prepared for the next four years due to the skills I have learned through the IB.”

George School welcomed over 500 alumni and friends back to campus for Alumni Weekend from Friday, May 6 through Saturday, May 7. The rainy weather did not stop excited classmates from reuniting, smiling, celebrating achievements, rekindling friendships, and reminiscing about their warm and nostalgic memories from George School.

Students Learn About Urban Farming from Logan Davis ’10

Because traveling the globe for service learning was not possible this year, seniors found opportunities closer to home. For ten of them, that meant working at and learning from Trenton’s Capital City Farm and manager Logan Davis ’10.

Exploration of Memoir is a new English Department elective that examines the genre through reading, writing, and service that grew out of two students’ service-learning project.
