Kyra Spence ’14 Bound for Iowa Writers’ Workshop

Kyra Spence ’14 has accepted an admissions offer at Iowa Writers’ Workshop to pursue an MFA in Poetry. The Iowa Writers’ Workshop is considered the top creative writing program in the country by many, and boasts graduates such as Flannery O’Connor and former faculty as Robert Lowell.

Matt Check ’00 Performs for George School

Award-winning musician Matt Check ’00 played songs and shared stories on Facebook Live for more than 800 George School students, alumni, and fans on Thursday, April 2, 2020. The concert was in honor of his 20th reunion and was a way for our community to join together in this time of social distancing. 

The Virtual Classroom: IB HL English

English teacher Melaina Young ’93 is going virtual with book clubs. Her IB HL English juniors have a choice of reading The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison or One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey.
