George School Students Receive 38 Scholastic Writing Awards
George School students received thirty-eight prizes for their writing in the 2022 Philadelphia Region Scholastic Arts & Writing Awards. Seven were Gold Key Awards, nine Silver Key Awards, and twenty-two Honorable Mentions. There were approximately 1,500 submissions in the Philadelphia area this year, and the Gold Key represents the top 5 percent of submissions.
Varsity Equestrian Team Members Qualify for Zone 11 Finals
Four George School Varsity Equestrian team members—Olivia Garrett ’23, Meadow Gober ’25, Sevde Guleryuz ’23, and Nicole McCleskey ’25—will conpete at the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Zone 11 Finals on the weekend of March 19-20, 2022, at Gloucester County Dream Park.
Jeffrey Love ’19 Selected for NCAA Division III 5000 Meter Championship
Jeffrey Love ’19 qualified for the 2022 Indoor NCAA Division III Championships for the second time in his collegiate career at Connecticut College and will race in the 5,000-meter run. Jeffrey posted a career-best mark of 14:27.74 in the 5,000 at the Tufts final qualifying meet in Medford, Massachusetts on March 5, 2022.
One Thousand Boxes and Counting
Artisan Woodworking Teacher, Carter Sio ’76, fell in love with woodworking when he was a student at George School. His own woodworking students have now created an estimated 1,000 purposeful keepsake boxes.
George School Presents Something (not so) Rotten
The musical comedy Something Rotten! is heading to Walton Auditorium and Friday, March 4, and Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. The performance is open to the public with masks required and is free of charge.

The Varsity Girls’ Basketball team took on the Mercerburg Blue Storm on Thursday, February 24, 2022, defeating them 56 -49. The Cougars will host Hill School in the Commonwealth Cup Championship on Saturday, February 26, 2020, at 1:00 p.m.
