George School Welcomes Alumni Back Home to Campus for Alumni Weekend 2022

George School welcomed over 500 alumni and friends back to campus for Alumni Weekend from Friday, May 6 through Saturday, May 7. The rainy weather did not stop excited classmates from reuniting, smiling, celebrating achievements, rekindling friendships, and reminiscing about their warm and nostalgic memories from George School.

Educator, media creator, and producer Leonard (Len) Majzlin ’57 will receive the George School Alumni Award during Alumni Weekend, May 6–8, 2022. The George School Alumni Award recognizes alumni who have used their talents, expertise, and personal commitment to make a positive impact on those around them. The nominating committee found many reasons to honor Len, but it is his outstanding contributions as an educator through creative vision and design that distinguish him.

Jeffrey Love ’19 Selected for NCAA Division III 5000 Meter Championship

Jeffrey Love ’19 qualified for the 2022 Indoor NCAA Division III Championships for the second time in his collegiate career at Connecticut College and will race in the 5,000-meter run. Jeffrey posted a career-best mark of 14:27.74 in the 5,000 at the Tufts final qualifying meet in Medford, Massachusetts on March 5, 2022.

One Thousand Boxes and Counting

Artisan Woodworking Teacher, Carter Sio ’76, fell in love with woodworking when he was a student at George School. His own woodworking students have now created an estimated 1,000 purposeful keepsake boxes.

Varsity Girls’ Basketball Celebrates a PAISAA Championship Win

The varsity girls’ basketball team, seeded #3 in the Pennsylvania State Independent Schools Athletics Association (PAISAA), won their first game in the Commonwealth Cup Championship on Tuesday, February 22. The next game for the team at “States” is at home on Thursday, February 24 at 5:00 p.m.

Alumni Award Nominations Now Open

The Advancement Office is now seeking nominations for its annual Alumni Awards, which are presented during Alumni Weekend, taking place May 6—8, 2022. Any George School alum celebrating a reunion is eligible for nomination.
