College Counseling Goes Digital

George School’s College Counseling Office will continue offering students personalized counseling appointments and visits online throughout the fall semester. Students can sign up for an online appointment with their college counselor using the link in their counselor’s email signature. Parents may also email their child’s counselor for an appointment.

Online college visits began on September 14 and will continue through November 13, 2020. Among the many colleges and universities on the list are American University, Boston University, Dartmouth, Northeastern, and Vanderbilt. Students sign up for remote visits through CIALFO, an online tool that helps students research colleges and manage their college lists. See the complete list of colleges and universities here.

In addition to offering remote appointments and visits, the team has also created a safe space for George School students to take the SAT. Seventy-three students sat socially distant and wore masks as they took the test on campus on Wednesday, September 23. A virtually proctored practice PSAT will be administered for juniors on October 14, the same practice PSAT will be given to sophomores in January. The PSAT/National Merit Qualifier will be given to juniors on January 26.
