Corentha joined the George School community as Director of the Children’s Center in 2024, after more than 12 years of experience working in childcare. 

Her career as an early childhood educator began through the suggestion of a friend. “I knew a friend who was working in childcare,” said Corentha, “I had the opportunity and qualifications to start as a director, so I did and I fell in love.”

Corentha was drawn to George School Children's Center because of the familial and peaceful nature radiating from it. The beliefs and philosophy of the school resonated deeply with her. “When you arrive on campus,” she shared, “you instantly feel the family atmosphere. It feels very peaceful and loving.”  

The George School Children’s Center provides a safe and caring environment for children to explore, learn, and foster new and lasting connections with others. “In the Children’s Center, we use the Quaker values of being mindful, and paying attention to nature and one another,” shared Corentha. “Being outside everyday helps children appreciate and admire what is around them.” The staff are highly qualified and knowledgeable in best practices of early childhood education, dedicated to responding to each individual child's unique needs and ensuring personalized care and support. The George School Children Center received the highest ranking through the Keystone STARS program. 

Corentha believes in the importance of building a strong foundation for a child’s future through early childhood education, knowing that the first three years of a child’s life are incredibly important. Making an impact on a child and their family, and seeing children grow and thrive as young learners, brings her a great sense of purpose. “I love the little ones, they give you energy, they give you strength,” said Corentha.
