Summer Camp COVID-19 Update
*CAMP UPDATE – MAY, 29, 2020
Over the past several months and as part of our response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the GSDC team has closely monitored the latest information and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, federal and local health officials, and the American Camp Association in preparation for our summer program.
After thorough consideration, and out of an abundance of caution for our campers and staff, we have determined it necessary to cancel our 2020 GSDC program and GS Basketball Camp. The George School Equestrian summer program will operate as planned due to lower camper enrollment, and the ability to incorporate increased social distancing and other safety measures into the program.

During these unsettling times, George School Day Camp remains deeply committed to the welfare of all we serve. Doing the right thing for our campers, colleagues, and the communities where we live and work is at the heart of George School and our camp.
This is a privilege that we work to earn on a daily basis, whatever conditions we face. It is with that in mind that we are reaching out with an update on what is happening with the George School Day Camp for 2020.
At this time George School Day Camp is hopeful about opening camp as planned this summer!
Camp – Now More Than Ever!
In challenging times like these, I am reminded of Albert Camus’s famous quote: “In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer…” As camp professionals, we are experts at building optimism and community in the face of fear and uncertainty. Our summer experiences teach resilience, determination, kindness, and teamwork.
America needs all summer camp programs now more than ever before. Perhaps the most important thing for you to know as this situation unfolds is that we are committed to being there for you, your family, and our community.
Recognizing that COVID-19 has brought unprecedented uncertainty and upheaval, our teams are available to listen and offer advice. Depending on how your family has been impacted, we will eplore how we might be able to provide relief from any hardship you might face. If you need help, please contact Camp Director Mike Bailey by phone at 215.579.6689 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know how we may help you through this difficult time.
Going forward, we will remain tightly focused on making sure we continue to make the right decisions at the right times and will be in touch as we have news.
Stay well and thank you for being a George School Day Camp Family.
