The George School varsity boys’ tennis team reached an overall record of 6-3 so far this season, and has a 4-1 Friends Schools League (FSL) record. Impressively, in the last three league matches against Abington Friends, Friends’ Central, and Friends Select, the Cougars shut out their opponents, winning all five flights 5-0.
Their winning streak will be put to the test when they face defending league champs, Germantown Friends, on Friday, May 3, and rival Westtown the following Tuesday, May 7. Westtown has defeated George School in the last two seasons. These three FSL teams are all competing against Shipley school, which is still undefeated this season.
The team championships begin Saturday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m. with the semifinal round and continue Tuesday, May 14 at 4:00 p.m. for the finals.
