Advanced Graphic Design 1-3

The advanced course continues to build and expand technical skills acquired in Graphic Design. Students will work more independently with project planning, problem solving, and evaluating and revising their work. In addition, students will explore the visual aesthetics of graphic design through critiques, presentations, and written assignments. There will be a focus on portfolio development as students work to develop their individual voice through the medium of graphic design. Student work is entered in regional contests and exhibited throughout the year in the George School galleries. The goals and tasks of this course change for students individually, allowing it to be taken repeatedly as Advanced 1, 2 or 3. It fulfills the IB requirement if taken in both junior and senior years, and seniors may take the class for Advanced Placement (non-seniors may also seek permission from the instructor). Please see the IB Visual Arts and AP Studio Art descriptions for more information.

Open to: Sophomores, juniors, and seniors
