Students in this course will work in a highly collaborative, workshop-based class to expand their knowledge of film production and analysis and to improve on the skills introduced in Film Production I. The focus of this course is on the five primary production roles: directing, editing, writing, sound, and cinematography. Short, targeted assignments early in the year will focus on students practicing and refining their skills. As students build knowledge and expertise, assignments will shift to more creative, open-ended projects. Students will be expected to submit at least one film to an external festival for outside consideration as well as screen their work to the school in the George School Film Festival. Students will also be expected to attend a theatrical film screening one weekend a month on campus.
