Family Visiting Day 2021

This year's Family Visiting Day is on Saturday, October 16 on George School's campus.

Parents and other family members are invited to attend Family Visiting Day on campus on Saturday, October 16 to learn about their child’s academic program at George School.

On Friday evening, sophomore parents are invited to attend an information session in the Mollie Dodd Anderson (MDA) Library Conference Room at 5:00 p.m. to meet key administrators and learn more about George School. Afterwards, all are welcome to the Parents Party, sponsored by the Parents Association, at 6:00 p.m. on campus where families can gather and chat with other George School families.

On Saturday morning, Head of School Sam Houser will deliver his annual address at 8:30 a.m. EDT in Walton Auditorium, which will also be livestreamed.

Families will then have the opportunity to follow their child’s schedule on campus that morning. During the fifteen-minute classes, families will learn about course details and plans for the year from faculty members.

Advisor Consultations will take place later that afternoon where students, parents, guardians, and advisors can meet to discuss students’ academic progress and any questions they may have. Consultations are available in person and on Zoom. Advance scheduling is required.  Families can register for a consultation here. Advisor Consultation and mini class schedules for families will be available on the Portal beginning Friday morning, October 15 at 10:00 a.m.

Families are also welcome to attend the Resource Fair at 1:00 p.m. EDT to meet departments, faculty, and staff at George School.

Please note that masks are required for all visitors on campus during the event.

Visiting Day coincides with Fall break, which begins after a student’s last school commitment on Friday, October 15. There are no classes on Monday, October 18.  Classes resume on Tuesday, October 19 at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
