A Quaker-affiliated program, the George School Children’s Center creates a safe and open environment where children learn through collaborative exploration with peers, high school students, and adults.
Located on the 240-acre George School campus in Newtown, Pennsylvania the children explore the outdoors every day. With several different play areas there is so much to see and do. “The facilities are excellent—clean, organized, and the kids have access to any materials and tools they need in order to learn and grow,” says current parent Megan Toomey. “I absolutely love how much time the children spend outside as well. The outside play and facilities are phenomenal.”
The children are often invited to attend events along with the high school students including assemblies, art shows, and performances. The children regularly visit the horses living on campus and George School’s co-op program allows several high school students to work in the center. A collaboration with Newtown Friends School routinely brings new faces and friends to the Children’s Center classrooms.
