George School varsity swim team members Jonathan Lessiohadi ’18 and Sara Matson ’20 were named to the Five Athletes to Watch lists for the upcoming boys’ and girls’ seasons by the Bucks County Courier Times.

“A senior, he [Jonathan] was the Friends League champion in the 200-yard freestyle and runner-up in the 100 breaststroke last season. He also competed at the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming and Diving championships, taking 18th in the breaststroke,” reported the Bucks County Courier Times.

“Last year Matson made a splash, winning the Friends League title in the 200-yard freestyle and taking second in the 500 free as a freshman. She concluded the year with a 21st place finish in the 200 free at the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming and Diving championships. She looks to make her sophomore campaign even better.”

“Undefeated in the regular season last year, the Cougars finished third at last year’s Friends League championship meet. Look for the team to continue that success and set their sights on standing on top of the podium at the championship meet.”

Both the varsity boys’ and the varsity girls’ teams host Abington Friends School on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.
