As the fortieth season of George School Day Camp (GSDC) comes to a close, Camp Director Beau Byrtus is grinning after leading the camp to another “Best in Bucks” win. “It means a lot to us to be named the Best Day Camp in Bucks County,” said Beau. “We work all year to plan a summer full of age-appropriate games and activities that are unique, and for our parents and campers to recognize that means the world to all of us.”
The Bucks County Courier Times collected online and paper ballots for the Best in Bucks competition and 23,603 local residents cast votes in various categories. The write-in only competition gave constituents an opportunity to vote for their choice of the best in the county. Voters could only vote one time.
Throughout the summer, campers participated in a variety of activities and events including ziplining, color games, a Halloween in August celebration, swimming, and a variety show. Campers also appeared on a special live segment for Fox 29 News called Camp Kelly.
GSDC offers a flexible, eight-week program for children ages four to fourteen. Parents can select any combination of weeks throughout the summer.
