Review important dates for the 2024-2025 school year to make your travel plans early and mark your calendar.


*Please note: All dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. This shortened calendar lists only major dates and is convenient when making travel plans. 

Parents and Guardians: In booking travel arrangements, please be mindful that the final day of a term is a class day. When students miss this day it can impact their academic work. These absences are considered unexcused.

School Breaks 2024-2025

Fall Break: Nov. 23-Dec. 1

Winter Break: Dec. 21-Jan. 5

Spring Break: March 14-23

Students will be asked to enter their school break travel plans in REACH throughout the academic year.

August

21 Boarding prefects move in; training begins for day and boarding prefects.

24 Boarding preseason athletes move in.

  • Preseason runs from August 24-31.
  • There is a required meeting for ALL preseason athletes at 1:00 p.m. on August 24.
  • Preseason is for invited students only; please email the appropriate coach by August 1.

25 International student mentors move in.

25 New Student Orientation captains move in.

27 New international boarding students move in.

28 New students move in; NSO begins.

  • NSO is for ALL new students and runs from August 28-September 1.
  • Day students are encouraged to stay on campus for dinner and evening activities throughout NSO.
NSO Schedule:

  • August 28: NSO ends at 4:30 p.m.

  • August 29: 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

  • August 30: 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
  • August 31: Weekend Activities 12:00 – 8:30 p.m.
  • September 1: 9:15 a.m.- 6:45 p.m. (dinner served)

September

01 Returning boarding students move in.
02 Labor Day; FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! Term 1 begins.
27 Cougar-Moose Day

October

07 Term 2 begins.
04 WIN Day
25 WIN Day; SATs offered at George School
25-26 Family Weekend

November

11 WIN Day
12 Term 3 begins.
22 Fall Break Begins after last commitment. Dorms close at 4:00 p.m. on 11/23.

01 Boarding Students Return by 7:00 p.m.
02 Classes Resume
20 Winter Break Begins after last commitment. Dorms close at 4:00 p.m. on 12/21.
21- 1/05 Winter Break Snowflake

05 Boarding Students Return by 7:00 p.m.
06 Classes Resume; Term 4 begins.

February

07 WIN Day
09 Boarding students return by 7:00 p.m.
10 Classes Resume; Term 5 begins.

March

13 Half Day; Spring break begins after last commitment. Dorms close at 4:00 p.m. on 3/14.
14-23 Spring Break Tulip
23 Boarding Students Return by 7:00 p.m.
24 Classes Resume; Term 6 begins.

April

25: WIN Day; SATs offered at George School
28 Term 7 begins.

23 Senior Dinner Dance

25 Commencement; Seniors depart campus by 4:00 p.m. Graduate
