Campbell Dormitory
Campbell Dormitory is home to our younger students and their prefects and dorm parents.
This dorm is located nearest to the Summit Square Shopping Center, where students can easily access a grocery store, pharmacy, and restaurants. Rooms in Campbell are comfortable doubles, spread out over the dorm’s two floors. The house has shared communal space indoors and outdoors, with a wooded backyard where residents can be found knocking around a soccer ball or barbequeing on the weekends with dorm parents.
Cougar Track and Field
Cougar Track is a 400-meter high-tech layered running surface with six-lanes and a 120-meter, eight-lane sprint straight. The all-weather turf field allows for extended use by the field hockey, lacrosse, and soccer teams.
Drayton Dormitory
Drayton is home to our older students, and their prefects and dorm parents. It houses two dorms — Upper Drayton and Lower Drayton, that share common recreation space but have their own private meeting spaces.
Situated directly across from the Main building on Red Square, Drayton residents are also just steps away from South Lawn and the academic quad.
Campus Safety
Members of the Campus Safety Department are on call 24/7 and are dedicated to keeping campus safe and secure for all community members.
Equestrian Center
George School offers a three-season, all-gender equestrian program. Our experienced staff teaches the hunt seat discipline, which focuses on equitation and places emphasis on horse-care fundamentals, team participation, and sportsmanship. George School students learn to both care for and ride their horses. Instruction is available for the novice or beginning rider through the advanced jumper who enjoys competing in horse shows. Students have the option to board their own horse or ride one of our school horses, and the team competes in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA).
Fitness and Athletics Center
George School's modern 100,000-square-foot Fitness & Athletics Center (FAC) offers a comprehensive range of features, including:
- A high-performance gym
- A versatile multi-purpose gym
- A fully equipped fitness center
- An 8-lane, 25-yard swimming pool
- A specialized wrestling room
- A dynamic movement studio
- Spacious locker rooms
Meeting House
In 1974, the George School Meeting House was moved brick by brick from the corner of Twelfth and Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia and reassembled in its current home on campus.
Now a fixture at the corner of Farm Drive and Meetinghouse Lane, the meetinghouse is the spiritual center of campus.
As community members enter for a service, settling into the simple pews, it becomes clear that meeting is a universal time for shared silence, reflection and consideration of the events of one’s week. Regardless of faith, meeting is a time for all in which a certain slowing down takes place with a purposeful centering of the mind.
Gladstone
Located behind Marshall Student Center, Gladstone is home to the Physical Plant Department, who keeps campus beautiful, sustainable, and running year round.
Hallowell Arts Center
Hallowell Arts Center is home to full ceramics and sculpture, woodworking, and photography studios. With arts as a critical piece of George School's core curriculum, all students are exposed to the arts and can pursue advanced coursework in the discipline of their choice.

Built in 1893, Main Building was the original home of George School and continues to be the center and heart of campus. Overlooking South Lawn with breathtaking views of the landscape, Main is a hub of community activity.
The first floor is home to Admissions, administrative offices and the Dining Hall. The second and third floors house East Main, Central Main and West Main, individual dormitiories and house our older students, their prefects and dorm parents. The Children's Center is nestled in the basement of Main Building.
Marshall Student Center
The centerpiece of student activities, Marshall is home to the Office of Student Life (OSL) and is a space for students to relax in community with one another. The School Store, post office, and day-student lockers are also conveniently located in Marshall.
McFeely
Once home to George School’s library, McFeely was reonvated in 2010 as the History and Social Sciences Department. The building is named for Richard H. McFeely (1904–1966), a George School history teacher known to students as “Mr. Dick,” who went on to serve as George School’s director of studies before becoming the school’s fourth head of school from 1948 to 1966.
Mollie Dodd Anderson Library (MDA Library)
Simply and affectionately known as "MDA," the library serves as both an academic hub & learning commons that is an incredible resource for all community members — hosting club meetings, art shows, and community gatherings. It is also home to the Learning Center and the Religions Department.
Library study rooms and the MDA Café also offer spaces for students to collaborate together on group projects, conduct research, and work independently. Students are welcome to visit the circulation desk throughout the school day to sign out a study room. The Learning Center, Waghorne Academic Study Hub (WASH), the Writing Center, and the Archives are also located within the library.
Orton Dormitory
Traditionally called "ORT!" by its residents, Orton is a boys and non-binary dormitory just a few steps away from Main Building. The Orton porch overlooks South Lawn where impromptu music sessions are often held.
Red Square
A social hub of campus situated between the academic quad and Main Building, Red Square (named for its red brick surface) is the bustling center of activity, with impromptu lunchtime music sessions, games, special activites or just social time with friends.

Built in 1903, Retford was the first building on campus designed to be an exclusively academic space. Today it houses the Math Department, a film studio, painting and drawing studios, and is also home to the student newspaper, Curious George, and Opus, the George School yearbook. With two rain gardens (used mainly by science classes), Retford takes a small part in helping to make our planet green.
Ropes Course
Situated among the trees, the ropes course provides opportunities for team and confidence building through physical challenge in a beautiful natural setting.
Spruance-Alden Science Center
Home to natural, mechanical, and computer science classrooms, the science center’s facilities allow for an in-depth educational experience not commonly offered at the secondary level. State of the art equipment includes stand-alone labs for hands-on work and a 3D printer.
Student Health and Wellness
The SHWC is a 14-bed facility including 2 exam rooms, a conference room, isolation spaces and a Counseling Suite. It a cozy and welcoming space for all, taking a holistic approach to student wellness, partnering parents or guardians, advisors, dorm supervisors, coaches, and athletic trainers to ensure that students learn best practices for their own health and wellness, know how to seek help when needed, and are cared for and comforted when injured or not feeling well.

Walton Center Auditorium
Walton is the home of our performing arts program and houses a dance studio, theater classrooms, and an audio recording studio. The community gathers in Walton Auditorium for weekly community meeting that includes announcements, student performances, light-hearted games, and guest speakers. Walton is open to the public for three mainstage dance and theater productions a year.
Westwood Dormitory
Home to all younger students, their prefects and dorm parents, Westwood's double rooms are furnished and comfortable. A common room indoors and a spacious porch create a sense of community and provide full-dorm gathering spaces both in and outside.
William Penn Outdoor Auditorium
A wooded oasis at the end of South Lawn, the William Penn Outdoor Auditorium hosts our community in the ceremonial beginning and end of each school year. Since 1937, George School has carried the tradition of Commencement (weather permitting). It now is also the place of convocation on the first day of school.
