Martha Kirk Swartz ’71 recently won the Alumnae Award for Excellence from Case Western Reserve University’s school of nursing. The award recognizes alumni demonstrating outstanding leadership and achievement in nursing and who have made significant contributions in the field.
Martha is a Professor of Nursing and the Chair of the Primary Care Division at Yale School of Nursing. Since 1981, Martha has served as a pediatric nurse practitioner at Yale New Haven Hospital Pediatric Primary Care Center.
Known in her field as a clinical expert in pediatric health care, Martha worked to develop Pediatric Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, a document that defines unified standards of care across all areas of pediatric nursing practice.
