George School Celebrates Alumni Weekend! All members of the George School community are welcome to join us on campus for Alumni Weekend! The weekend-long event will be full of family activities and celebrations such as the community carnival, campus tours, and more. Check out the full schedule here. We hope to see you on campus!
Student Weekend Activity Schedule. The annual student video game event, QuakerCon, will be happening this weekend. Students can also watch a movie screening in Walton Auditorium, enjoy treats in Marshall Center, and partake in the Alumni Weekend festivities. Full schedule.
Tribeca Film Festival. All are invited to see the work of students who are being honored at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City this weekend. The competition received 1,000 entries this year, and only one hundred made the final round, four of which belonged to George School students. Power in a Whisper, Rodney Glasgow, a film by Julia Carrigan ’20, was the grand prize winner. Learn more.
Course Confirmation for 2019-2020. Returning students have begun meeting with their advisors to review their course selections for next year. Course confirmation paperwork is due back to the School Office by Monday, May 6.
All School Art Show. Parents are invited to join us on Monday, May 6 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for the All School Art Show, which will feature student work across campus. Woodworking and Design and Ceramics pieces will be in Marshall during the show. Graphic Design and Painting and Drawing works will be in Main, and Painting and Drawing will also be in Walton. Photography, Sculpture, a few Ceramics pieces, and a large mirror produced in Woodworking and Design will be located in the MDA Gallery. Students will be in the gallery where their artwork is located, and refreshments will be available in all locations. Learn more.
Summer Online Course for US History. George School will again be offering an online course in US History as an alternative to the academic year version of the course. For more information on the course and how to enroll, click here.
Art for Relief Silent Auction. Join the Art for Relief club on Saturday, May 11 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at George School for a silent auction featuring student and faculty work, and art donated by the community. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Heifer International, a nonprofit organization that works to empower families through sustainable life practices. Please consider donating online if you’re unable to attend. Thank you for your support!

Parents Association Meeting. The last Parents Association Meeting of the year will take place on Wednesday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mollie Dodd Anderson Library Conference Room. A light dinner will be served beforehand in the meetinghouse from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sandy Gibson, a clinical social worker and professor at The College of New Jersey, will be presenting Parenting Adolescents in the Age of Addictions.
