Mark Updegrove ’80 New CEO for National Medal of Honor Foundation

Mark Updegrove ’80, the new CEO of The National Medal of Honor Foundation, is partnering with five former US presidents to build a new National Medal of Honor Museum. The planned three-building complex is set to grace the banks of Charleston Harbor in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.

Shakespeare Comes to Life at George School

One of the greatest tragedies ever to play out on the stage, Macbeth, will be coming to George School, Saturday, October 7, 2017. The show will be an opportunity for sophomore students, who have spent the term reading Shakespeare, to see the characters they have been studying come to life.

Chinezi Chijioke ’96 Climbs Mt. Kilimanjaro

Chinezi Chijioke ’96, CEO and founder of Nova Pioneer Education Group, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in October to raise money for the schools in the Pan-African independent school network. The money raised from the Kilimanjaro climb will be used to launch new Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs.

George School Welcomes Parents

George School is pleased to welcome parents to campus on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Parents will have the opportunity to attend their child’s classes, meet with teachers during conferences and more.

Faculty Take On Harvard Project Zero Course

Last summer George School faculty members applied and were accepted as a cohort for an online professional development course titled Teaching For Understanding, at Project Zero, a program run through Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.

Mario Capecchi ’56 to Speak at George School

Nobel Laureate recipient Mario Capecchi ’56, will return to campus to speak to students, faculty, alumni, and parents on Wednesday, October 25. Mario is the first of a number of notable alumni speaking on the topic of innovation in celebration of George School’s 125th anniversary.

Admission Open House Planned

George School’s fall Admission Open House is scheduled for Sunday, October 29, 2017. Prospective students and families are invited to join the community to discover what makes George School unique.

George School Blanks Abington Friends

The varsity boys’ soccer team defeated Abington Friends School 2-0 on Thursday, September 28, 2017 for their third Friends Schools League win this season.
