Aspiring writers had an opportunity to meet and learn from published poet and author Kevin Pilkington earlier this month. Kevin has authored six collections of poetry and two novels. His work has been published in journals nationwide and has been nominated for four Pushcart Prizes.
Students took a brisk walk across campus to map out the solar system in an exercise called “The Thousand-Yard Model,” or “The Earth as a Peppercorn.” The exercise is part of a Religions Department Cosmology course.

Jeffrey Love ’19 took first in the Friends Schools League varsity cross country championships on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. He ran the 3.1-mile course at Belmont Plateau Trails Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, finishing with a time of 16:30:03.
The George School varsity girls’ field hockey team won their last regular season home game 4-0 against Friends Schools League (FSL) opponent, Friends’ Central School. It was a big night for the team as they also honored seven seniors at the end of the game.
Martha Kirk Swartz ’71 recently won the Alumnae Award for Excellence from Case Western Reserve University’s school of nursing. The award recognizes alumni demonstrating outstanding leadership and achievement in nursing and who have made significant contributions in the field.
