George School Named Best Private High School

George School is thrilled to once again be named the Best Private High School, Best Private High School for STEM, and the Most Diverse Private High School in Bucks County, according to the 2020 Niche.com rankings. The school also ranked in the top-five best Boarding Schools in Pennsylvania and top ten best College Prep High Schools in the Philadelphia region.

Get to Know George School’s New IB Coordinator

Kim McGlynn will lead the IB Diploma Program, ensuring that the program aligns with both IB standards and George School’s academic mission and curriculum. She will support and guide students and their parents through the rigorous program.

Winter Miller ’91 Debuts New Play

Playwright and George School alum Winter Miller ’91 directed the off-Broadway play, No One is Forgotten in July. The production ran July 8 to 27, 2019 at the Rattlestick Theater in New York. Winter is an award-winning playwright and founding member of the Obie-winning collective 13 Playwrights.

George School Honored in Hanoi

George School was honored in Hanoi, Vietnam on Friday, June 21, 2019 for our help in establishing a strong friendship with the Vietnam-US Society (VUS). The award was presented to faculty members Ralph Lelii, Chéri Mellor, and Carter Sio ’76 for their ongoing support of the program and many visits to the country.

Three Outstanding Teachers Praised

Terry Culleton, Ralph Lelii, and Paul Machemer ’65 were celebrated at the George School Closing Banquet on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. Members of the faculty and staff came together to say their thanks and goodbyes to this year’s retiring faculty. “George School cherishes their contributions to the school’s critical effort to be a unique community of learning,” said Head of School Sam Houser.

Celebrating Terry Culleton

Carl Jung believed that the origin of evil in the world is the fact that people are not able to tell their stories. Students too have their dreams and forgetting that is to forget the essence of this thing we do. Terry Culleton has been dedicated his whole career to letting students tell their stories, to look inside and awaken rather than outside and to simply dream.

Celebrating Paul Machemer ’65

Paul Machemer ’65 has faith in his students. He teaches, he coaches, he encourages, he inspires. Soon his conviction becomes their confidence, their willingness to work hard and take risks. Coaching in the classroom, teaching on the field or court, Paul’s standards are high, his expectations aspirational, his results kind of phenomenal.
