COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIREMENT

All students, faculty and staff are required to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. All community members are strongly encouraged to receive the bivalent vaccine and an annual flu vaccine.

MASK-WEARING AND HYGIENE PRACTICES

  • George School is a mask-friendly campus; masks are encouraged but not required in campus buildings.
  • All community members have been instructed to have a supply of masks on hand. Current guidance suggests that KN95 masks are most effective. The school does not provide students with masks; they can be purchased locally at places Rite-Aid or Giant or ordered via Amazon.
  • Vigilant handwashing/sanitizing is encouraged. Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout campus.
  • Students and faculty should refrain from attending class when feeling ill; students should report to the Student Health and Wellness Center should they become ill while on campus. Testing is not permitted in the dormitories.
  • Students and employees must follow George School Health and Safety protocols for quarantine and isolation.

PROTOCOLS FOR STUDENT-ATHLETES

Any student athlete who has tested positive for COVID-19 is required to report to the Athletic Training Suite after the conclusion of their isolation period, and before rejoining their team.

CLOSE CONTACTS

Close contact is defined as an exposure to an individual with COVID-19 that was longer than 15 minutes and closer than 6 feet in distance. This includes but is not limited to roommates, romantic partners, and close friends. Any student who feels that they may be a close contact should come to the SHWC for consultation, screening and if necessary, testing by a nurse.

Close contacts will be instructed expected to wear a mask in all indoor spaces on campus for 10 days post-exposure and to be re-evaluated and/or tested at the SHWC should they become symptomatic for COVID-19 during those 10 days.
