Mikko Kuittinen ‘26 named first Scholastic All-American in GS History

Congratulations to Mikko Kuittinen ’26 who was selected to the 2024 Scholastic All-America Team for USA Swimming. Mikko is the first individual in George School Swim Team program history to accomplish this feat.

All swimmers across the country who have achieved a Winter National Championships qualifying time are invited to apply for this award. The student athlete is then required to provide high school transcripts to US Swimming to verify they have maintained a minimum 3.5 GPA (unweighted) throughout the academic year. The US Swimming Scholastic All American roster names those swimmers who the organization feels best represent the highest level of achievement in the classroom and in the pool.

“I do not have the words to express how difficult it is to train to achieve a National level time while maintaining a 4.0 at a school as rigorous as George School,” shared head coach Brandon Hullings. “Mikko should feel a tremendous amount of pride in this accomplishment, as should the community at George School who helped to provide the supportive environment that helped him realize his potential.”

“Congratulations to Mikko on this tremendous achievement,” said Director of Athletics Kurt Ruch, “and congratulations also to Head Coach Brandon Hullings, whose knowledge, focus and attention to detail, combined with the meaningful relationships he builds with each of his swimmers has brought tremendous results to the George School Swim Program.”
