Sidney Walters ’19

Howard University
Sidney learned that although not all of her soccer teams worked the same way, they all worked together.

What did you learn from playing on a team?

I was on the varsity girls’ soccer team starting my freshman year, and I saw many  different groups of girls play. Some things worked with one group and failed with another. We needed to work as a team, but in order to do that, we need to remain positive, even if we were losing. You need to bring your team up, not down.

What was special about dorm life at George School?

In the dorm I had lots of loving dorm parents, prefects, and my fellow peers. Boarding builds character and sometimes forces you out of your comfort zone.

More about Sidney:

Sidney was an IB diploma candidate, tour guide, peer group leader, and was on on the Discipline Committee and Student Council. Among her other activities were volunteering with Bucks Food for Friends and taking part in UMOJA (a club that shares the culture and heritage of descendants from Africa with the George School community), Student Activities Board, and the Service and Astronomy clubs.
