For Sofia, a small school means big opportunities.

Is there a teacher who made a big impact on you?

My sophomore English teacher Joelle Sanphy ’08 was there for me whenever I needed help with anything—not just to support me in English, but to help me with resumes for jobs and with life in general. She always found time to meet and always had a smile on her face. Joelle has made me want to become a better reader, writer, and overall person. Every time I see her around campus, I am filled with happiness.

Has anything surprised you about George School?

The benefits of George School’s small size surprised me. When I went to a pre-college program over the summer, it was overwhelming. I felt claustrophobic in the hallways. I was reminded of how I love George School’s small class sizes and one-on-one connections with teachers. The support I receive and the special connections I have made would not have been possible had I stayed at my old school.
