Sara is president and CEO of Pennsylvania’s only African-American owned talk radio station, WURD.

Sara Lomax-Reese ’83 was named one of the 100 Most Influential People in Philadelphia, as ranked by Philadelphia Magazine. She is known as a mover and shaker, both for her work in radio and for her impact on local boards.

Sara is president and CEO of Pennsylvania’s only African-American owned talk radio station, WURD. She hosted and produced a radio show, HealthQuest Live, for more than ten years at that station. She is also on the boards of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Drexel’s College of Engineering Advisory Council.

A featured speaker at the Think Fest in Philadelphia in November, Sara was on a panel titled Women in Power: Where Philly Stands. The panel discussed the need for more female leadership roles in the city, sexism, and ways to elevate more women to powerful roles.

Philadelphia Magazine noted that Sara was on the rise as WURD has expanded its podcasts and events. WURD can be heard on 900 AM and 96.1 FM.
