Self-portraits, acrylic, and gouache paintings will cover the walls of Main Lobby for the next few weeks.
In Painting and Drawing students learned to mix color by matching the different hues, intensity, and values through the process of painting a self-portrait from a photograph. Students in Advanced Painting and Drawing used a similar technique to further develop their color mixing skills and a unique composition by creating a collage inspired by James Rosenquist. In Advanced Painting and Drawing II, students continued to develop their color mixing and paint handling skills while creating a large scale painting by enlarging their composition. “Each assignment demonstrates the progression that takes place in the Painting and Drawing program,” said teacher Jō Adachi.
The exhibition will remain on display through the beginning of March.
