George School is pleased to announce that eight students have been selected to exhibit at the 2018 Phillips’ Mill Youth Art Exhibition. Three of the students received awards for their work.

The students selected to exhibit are Megha Anand ’19, Philip Chen ’18, Jacob Hoopes ’19, Phoebe Johnson ’20, Fiona Keith ’19, Isabella Lin ’18, Josie O’Neal-Odom ’19, and Claire Schmucker ’20.

Phoebe received an honorable mention in photography for her work titled City Dream. Jacob received third place in the 3-D section for his work called Textured Box and Josie took second place in the works on paper category for Self-Portrait.

According to the website, the Youth Art Exhibition was conceived when Phillips’ Mill decided to build on the success of its well respected adult Art Exhibition, which began in 1929. The exhibition solicits participation from the art departments of high schools located within a twenty-five mile radius of the Mill. It is the art department at each school that selects the student work. Works are juried by a juror selected by the Mill and cash prizes are awarded.

The Youth Art Exhibition runs January 21, January 27–28, February 3–4, and February 10–11, 2018 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. each night.
