Faculty members Carter Sio ’76 and Danielle Picard-Sheehan were awarded gold and silver certificates from Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The awards recognize the dedication, commitment, and guidance put forth in helping students achieve national recognition in the arts.
Carter and Danielle each had students receive national scholastic art awards during the 2017–2018 school year. Carter’s student, Eric Yu ’19, received a gold medal for a tray he created in his Woodworking and Design class, while Danielle’s student, Nora Greer ’19, collected a silver medal for a photograph created in Danielle’s Digital Imaging and Design course.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades seven through twelve.
