The varsity field hockey team conquered Conwell Egan on Friday, September 7, with an impressive 8-0 victory.

“Everyone got to play and everyone was challenged in one way or another,” said Nancy Bernardini, head coach. “The defense did a nice job of keeping the ball out of the circle for most of the game, but goalie Vanessa Baker ’19 stopped a dangerous 1v1 attack by Conwell and earned five saves in the game.”

Midfielders Cosi Janssen ’20, Eva Kinnel ’20, and Emily Matson ’20 distributed the ball and contributed on both the offense and defense. Izzy Robinson-Cloete ’20, Annie Borovskiy ’20, Kate Hunter ’20, Ada Wagar ’21, and Sanaa Hebron ’22 worked together passing the ball down the field with control and precision, and finishing off shots into the goal. Sanaa, a newcomer, scored three goals, Eva, had two goals, Cosi, Annie, and Izzy each had one.

The team will travel to Morrisville on Tuesday, September 11 at 3:45 p.m. for their next game.
