
The George School varsity girls’ basketball team continued its winning streak on Wednesday, December 12 with a win against Cristo Rey High School.
“Kaliyah Myricks ’21 led all players with seventeen points and nine rebounds, as the George School girls’ basketball team handily defeated Cristo Rey 45-26,” reported The Intelligencer.
Co-captain Alexandra Long ’20 and Jennifer McArthur ’19 each scored five points, and co-captain Claryn Troup ’19 scored four. “All players got ample playing time and everyone contributed something to the victory,” said George Long, head coach.
This win comes on the heels of a 52-39 victory against Friends Select School on Tuesday. “Alexis Semidey-Martinez ’21 led the Cougars with twenty-two points and six rebounds in the win, while Kaliyah Myricks dropped seventeen and pulled down fourteen rebounds,” reported the Burlington County Times. Alexandra also had eight assists.
The Cougars are now 4-3 in the season and 1-0 in the Friends Schools League. Next up, the team will play Germantown Academy in the Make-a-Wish Showcase game on Friday, December 14.
