Varsity Girls’ Softball Winning Streak Continues

The varsity girls’ softball team was recently highlighted in the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Bucks County Courier Times for their standout performance this season.

The team played Germantown Friends School on Friday, May 4, 2018 and won 16-8.

“Caitlyn Mihalik ’20 shined in the pitching circle and at the plate in George School’s 16-8 decision over Germantown Friends” reported Mike Owens of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “Caitlyn tossed a complete game and went 3-for-5 with four RBIs.”

Mackenzie Sheehan ’19 had a double and a triple during the game against Germantown Friends. Melanie Fisch ’19 and Aliea Nallbani ’19 each had two hits and two RBIs.

The Friends Schools League semifinals game on Saturday, May 12, 2018 was also reported as a game to watch in the Bucks County Courier Times. “The Cougars have been playing some good softball despite fielding one of the youngest lineups in the area,” said Rick Woelfel, Bucks County Courier Times correspondent.

The varsity girls’ softball team will play the Academy of the New Church in a home game on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.
