Varsity Girls’ Track Team Wins Ursinus College Invitational

At the Ursinus College High School Open Invitational, Sanaa Hebron ’22 won the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.8 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 25.2 seconds.

George School varsity girls’ track team opened their winter season with a forty-eight point win at the Ursinus College High School Open Invitational, taking first place out of a field of forty-three teams.

Sanaa Hebron ’22 won the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.8 seconds, the 200-meter dash in 25.2 seconds, and came in third in the 55-meter dash in 7.4 seconds. She also anchored the Cougar’s winning 4×200-meter relay team of Amerley Lokko ’19, Abby Eisold ’20, and Neha Kotha ’22 with a team time of 1:50.36.

“Sanaa, Amerley, Abby, and Neha had impressive days in their individual events as well as helping our team take home first place,” said Michael Toomey, varsity coach.

The varsity boy’s track team also competed at Ursinus, with Jeffrey Love ’19 as the team’s top finisher, taking third place in the 3,000-meter run. Chris Chan ’19 also had an impressive showing at the long jump, 55-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and the 4×200-meter relay.

The boys’ track team will be back in action on January 12, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. for the Lavino Relays at the Lawrenceville School.
