Zoom Cooking Competition

Students participated in a Chopped-style cooking competition from all over the globe and right on campus via Zoom video chat over the weekend of April 18-19, 2020.

Much like the TV show, participants had a list of ‘must-use’ ingredients. These “Pandemic Pantry Market Basket” ingredients included: peanut butter, flour, ketchup, and canned beans. The students were incredibly creative coming up with dishes such as Satay (Thai peanut dip), coconut curry chickpeas with jasmine rice and chocolate peanut butter pie.

The winner, Frederic Perera ‘21, wowed the judges with a chocolate lava cake topped with a heart-shaped medallion. Frederic is currently at home in London, England. He joined at midnight just to be a part of the competition.

Even if they are working alone from all over the globe, George School faculty and students are still working together to create fun, and tasty, projects.
